With my students I follow the 8-limbs philosophy of Yoga, as outlined in the Sutras of Patanjali, exploring with disciplines such:
-
YAMA- Restraints, moral disciplines or moral vows
-
NIYAMA- Positive duties or observance
-
ASANA- Posture
-
PRANAYAMA- Breathing Techniques
-
PRATYAHARA- Sense withdrawal
-
DHARANA - Focused Concentration
-
DHYANA- Meditative Absorption
-
SAMADHI- Bliss or Enlightenment
My practice is deeply influenced by my travels to Nepal, Bali and India. Drawing from experiences as a teacher in yoga teacher training courses, along with time spent alongside disciples of Pattabhi Jois, Iyengar, and other gurus encountered during yoga pilgrimages in north India.
The styles I use for Asana practice can vary from dynamic forms like Ashtanga or Vinyasa to more restorative practices such as Yin or Nidra. Regardless of the chosen physical practice, all sessions incorporate Philosophy of yoga, Breathwork and Meditation.
